Exams

I now have the dates for both my theory and practical exams. Theory: 11th November. Practical:24th November. Just in time for my trip to Cairo.

Well, seeing my theory exam is next week, I am going to be concentrating on that this next week and a half. I am (trying) to memorize a bunch of words in Italian along with their meanings in English, no simple task.

Turns out that it is on the same day as the Bazaar on my compound, so I probably won’t be helping at that function, as the causeway on Thursdays can be hectic!

So, I decided to make some birthday cards last week. We don’t have a lot of card stock, so I had to make the cards one piece.
I was trying to figure out what to do, because we have heaps of little scrap pieces from Mum’s craft projects. I came up with two, and really like them.

Using a hot glue gun, I stuck two buttons together, a red and orange button I think it was. Anyway, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

My Treat

Last Thursday I realized something. So often we will either treat or be treated by a friend, but often we overlook those who should be our best friends.

Our brothers and sisters. Why? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because we think they don’t need it, want it, or care if it happens or not.

But we are subconsciously excluding  our family from that part of our lives. In this respect we ignore them. If we can treat our friends, why not our brother or sister?

So while at the pool on Thursday I decided that I would, once a month, treat my little brother, and then my little sister. Little brother got it on Thursday, and today it is little sisters turn.

We are going to get some snacks from the shop today, and have afternoon tea while little brother is at his tennis lesson. Dad will be at work, so it will be just us two girls.

So, it’s the weekend again. So far my only plan is going to a friend’s house for lunch on Friday. We might go swimming sometime, but if we do I will be wearing a rashi, because I got burned badly last weekend, and am peeling!

I have been experimenting with my hair recently, and have only been using conditioner. It has certainly improved my hair, it is now less dry, and works every time.

When I say it works, I mean that there are pretty curls, instead of flat fizzy places.

Today I have been getting some extra schoolwork done, so I am ahead on my work. My little brother and I also washed Max. He looks so cute now.

Piano Lessons

From this week I am giving piano lessons again. This afternoon I have a student at 4, and a babysitting job at 5. My student today is returning after summer, which is nice.

Tomorrow I have a piano lesson at 9:30, and am giving 2 in the afternoon. Today has gone well, as I was able to get through several lessons of Algebra, and some other subjects.

My two younger siblings and I began a puzzle yesterday which I won as a prize on Friday at my friends party. It is a picture of a tiger in winter. So pretty.

Off Again

Tonight we are taking big brother and Mum to Bahrain, so they can catch their flight back to Australia.Yesterday we went to a friend’s birthday party, and we all tie-dyed t-shirts.

At the moment my sister and little brother and I are wearing ours. We had never tie-dyed before, and we enjoyed it heaps.

Doing Chemistry again this morning, and am beginning unit 4! There are 10 units, so I won’t finish that for a while.

A Business Trip

In two weeks my older brother and Mum are off to Australia again. This time it is not for driving or becoming a coach. They will be attending 2 conferences while in Australia for 3 weeks, to do with real estate.

They will leave on the 20th of September, and get back on the 10th or 11th of October, just in time for big brothers 18th birthday.

I began piano again yesterday, and now have 2 new pieces which I am learning. Alone at Sunset, and The Lady of the Gardens, which little sister got for me in the US.

They are both beautiful pieces, and the latter is from 1934!

So, another Grooming Session

We wash our dog in the bath. He is so small, it works quite well. In Danah we would wash him in the sink. Afterwards we blow-dry and brush him. Max doesn’t particularly enjoy it, but he likes the attention so he tolerates it.

Today he got a wash, brush and blow-dry. Now he is receiving a full on hair cut, from big brother and Mum. Before they got back from the US, I gave his muzzle and ears a clip, stuffing up on the ears completely.

Poodles are supposed to have ultra-long ears, and Max’s look closer to a teddy bears ears. Short. Tidy, but definitely short.

Now the rest of him is getting done properly, but his ears look silly on the poodle. I am having problems with making sure that Max is completely dry, he sometimes is a little damp at the end of his ears, or his back-end.

Today was no exception, so I went back upstairs and did him some more.

Update: We are not swimming this year with a team, at least for this part of the season. I have my first piano lesson in 2 days at 9:30, and a babysitting job Thursday week.

Back Again

So, they’re flight was delayed from Dallas, and they had to catch a later flight from Heathrow  Airport because of that delay.This we found out at 2 in the afternoon on Friday.

Then we found out that the plane got into Bahrain at 1 in the morning on Saturday! We went across the causeway at 5:15, and by 6:30 we were in City Center Mall eating at Chili’s.

For the rest of the night we wondered around this mall and another one, and had gelato, and an ice coffee, from Gloria Jeans, which was delicious.

When we arrived at the airport the airplane had just landed, 20 minutes early. It took another 4o minutes or so until we saw my Mum, brother and sister.

They had no luggage. It was still in Heathrow.  Last night we found out that it had arrived, so this afternoon Dad and big brother are going to pick it all up. 7 suitcases.

 

3 days Left

They get back in 3 days!! They being my Mum, older brother and little sister. In preparation we are deep cleaning  the house again.  I am going to make Anzac Biscuits, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Apple Pie. Possibly Lamingtons as well.

3 weeks ago we were on a plane heading back to Saudi, and in 3 days so will the other half of my family. My brother and sister both got medals at the Junior Olympics. Brother got 6 golds and 2 silvers, and sister got a gold and a silver, plus some ribbons which is great!

Today I am going to make the Anzac biscuits I think. Also I am cleaning up my cupboards and draws, and the room.  Maybe there will be some pictures for you of the Anzac biscuits!
